THE BEST GLUTEN-FREE LASAGNA

Heat olive oil in large pot and cook ground beef, ground sausage, and garlic over medium heat until well browned.

Step 1:

Stir in onion, mushrooms, crushed tomatoes, fire-roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, & water. Season with spices.

Step 2:

Simmer, covered, for about 45 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, parsley, and salt.

Begin assembling the lasagna. Spread 3 cups of the lasagna sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Arrange 1 layer of noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture.

Step 7:

Top with half of the mozzarella cheese.

Step 8:

Spread 2 cups of the meat sauce evenly over the mozzarella.

Sprinkle with fresh grated parmesan. Then repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, sauce, parmesan).

Step 10:

Tent lasagna with foil and bake in a preheated oven set to 375°F for 25 minutes.

Step 11:

Remove foil, bake an additional 25 minutes, or until the lasagna is hot and bubbling and the noodles are tender. Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
